Claude Monet - one of the world's most famous artists

Artist discussion: Claude Monet was one of the greatest French artists.  Monet loved the outdoors, and this is reflected in his style of brilliant color applied to natural scenes.  He especially loved the pond on his property at Giverny, France, which became his oudoor art studio.   One of his most famous paintings, Water Lilies, was painted at his beloved pond, as were many other notable works.  Monet died in 1926 of lung cancer.
